NEKTAR V2.0

NEKTAR Motion

Lightweight electric vehicle (L7e category)

NEKTAR Motion is a lightweight electric vehicle project developed by Claeys Design.
The project explores a simpler, repairable and more rational approach to mobility, designed for peri-urban and rural daily use.

NEKTAR Motion was conceived as a complete hardware development program combining industrial design, vehicle architecture and engineering integration.

NEKTAR uses the technical architecture of the BUGG Motion vehicle, while its design is adapted to a different strategic positioning.

Architecture & engineering by claeys-design and his network

The entire vehicle was designed internally, including:

  • chassis architecture

  • suspension systems

  • structural calculations

  • battery sizing and integration

  • electrical architecture

  • Seats and interior

The project also included:

  • exhaustive Bill of Materials (BOM)

  • market studies

  • exploration of multiple business models

  • industrial feasibility considerations

  • financial startegy

Industrial design & manufacturing logic

The vehicle was intentionally designed around simplified production principles:

  • flat surfaces

  • straight tubes

  • rationalized geometries

  • reduced part complexity

The platform was developed to maximize:

  • modularity

  • ease of assembly

  • ease of maintenance

  • reparability

  • manufacturing accessibility

The project follows a design philosophy aligned with circular economy and long-life product thinking.

Project organization

BUGG Motion brought together approximately 23 contributors (freelance & students):

  • engineers

  • industrial designers

The project was developed over a 4-year period, from early concept research to advanced 3D prototype development.
